The collection includes the most significant articles from two books by D. S. Merezhkovsky "The Coming Boor" (1906) and "Sick Russia" (1910), as well as extracts from diaries 3. N. Gippius for 1914-1919, which she herself considered lost. To both authors, the fate of Russia was drawn in tragic colors, and in many ways their premonitions were realized.
