The monograph outlines the main provisions of acoustoelasticity, which studies the laws of propagation of elastic waves in bodies with initial stresses. The basic relations of the theory of propagation of elastic waves of small amplitude in compressible bodies with initial stresses in the case of arbitrary elastic potential are given in various statements.
