The book is devoted to the topical, in the context of the increasing anthropogenic transformation of the nature and press of hunting, the topic of reproduction, protection and rational use of elk resources. The systematic position of the species, the history of the range and abundance, limiting the properties of the environment are considered. Particular attention is paid to the reasons for the reduction of livestock, differences in the level of density, as well as the choice of the composition of selective production and methods of rationing it.
