In addition to traditional epics, the book presents examples of "historical" songs, ballads, buffoons. The most striking feature of Russian folk epic poetry is that it is always song poetry. In Russian song folklore, more than six hundred plots are known that cover a huge period of Russian history from the middle of the 13th century until the beginning of the 20th century. We can say that songs are the very movement of history, seen, meaningful and appreciated by the people. At the end of the book is a dictionary of rare, obsolete and local words.
