The purpose of the training manual is to develop knowledge, skills and abilities in the discipline "Automation of navigation," which is included in the curriculum for training in the specialty of higher education "Navigation." The achievement of this goal is solved by outlining the theoretical foundations of automation of navigation, accompanied by specific examples from practice. The content of the publication complies with the current federal state educational standard for the training of boatmaster engineers. The training manual is also compiled taking into account the qualification requirements of Section A-II1 of the Code of PDNV-78 "Mandatory minimum requirements for the certification of shift assistants to the captain of ships with a gross capacity of 500 or more."
