This monograph is devoted to the consideration of the internal policy of Ivan IV throughout the 60s - 70s. XVI century: Soviet and pre-revolutionary historiography of problems, reforms of the 50s, Zemsky Sobor in 1566, the activities of Metropolitan Philip, the social structure of the oprichnina and changes in the state apparatus in the oprichnina era are studied.
