Reasoning of Vladimir Veshnyakov, student of the Imperial St. Petersburg University, Faculty of Law, according to the cameral category, III year, awarded by the definition of the Faculty of History and Philology, on a public act on February 8, 1851, a gold medal. Based on annals and other historical sources, the reasons for the gradual rise of the State of Moscow are set out, with an explanation of the circumstances that contributed to its advantage over the surrounding Principalities, and with a critical analysis of the opinion of Karamzin and other writers on this subject.
