The book explores some issues of the economic and political history of Sogd - the medieval state of the Amu Darya basin. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of the economy of Sogd (economic life, markets, money circulation, etc.) - an issue that has not yet been studied. The book shows the high level of economic and social development of Sogd in the period preceding the Arab conquest of Central Asia.
