The collection contains articles on the theoretical problems of source study - source study aspects of studying a book, the interpretation of the concept of "historical source" in the works of philosophers, the issue of equipping state archives with modern documents. A special section is devoted to the historiography of source study, in particular, chess methods of textual analysis. The articles of the collection reflect the methodological experience of studying annals and folklore monuments, sources on the history of the peasantry and agriculture, office documents, populist journalism, legislative acts of the Soviet period. Particular attention is paid to quantitative methods in source study - matrix media and statistical and mathematical methods of analyzing the social structure of Soviet society.
