The monograph examines the origins of the ode genre in Russia on the material of Russian poetry of the 17th - early 18th centuries, the formation of the ode in the 1730s (the work of V.K. Trediakovsky and German Petersburg poetry), the building and heyday of the ode associated with the work of M.V. Lomonosov, the crisis of the genre in the 1760s and its renewal in the work of G.R. Derzhavin.
