Bit book 1475-1598. belongs to the type of "Sovereign ranks," which were compiled several times during the middle of the XVI - beginning of the XVII century.; these are the editions of 1556, 1584, 1585, 1598 and 1604. Of these, only two editions have been published: the famous Russian enlightener N.I. Novikov published an edition 1585 2, and P. N. Milyukov - "Sovereign Rank" of 1556 with a continuation to 1565. 3 Of the unpublished "Sovereign Ranks," the editions of 1598 and 1604 are of the greatest interest, concluding a large amount of valuable information on the history of Russia in the last quarter of the XV - beginning of the XVII century. The quality of publications of bit records for 1475-1585, already known from the publications of N. I. Novikov and P. N. Milyukov, cannot be considered satisfactory due to the presence of numerous errors, the lack of pointers in the publication of N. I. Novikov, etc.
