Saturnalia Macrobia is an outstanding work of Late Antiquity, belonging to the genre of "simposii," the beginning of which was laid by the dialogues of the same name by Plato and Xenophon, and continued by Plutarch {Table conversations) and Athenaeus {Feasting sages). The participants of the feast discuss issues of a wide variety of content and character (from funny and funny to complex and serious), confirming the arguments with quotes from ancient texts, usually lost at present.
