This volume publishes an abridged book with entries for 1559-1605. It contains valuable information on the history of public administration, the organization of the armed forces, wars and military art of Russia of the specified time, on the history of localism. From year to year, it contains records of the appointments of representatives of the service class of feudal lords for civil and military service (regimental and city governors, judges in orders, etc.), court ceremonies and receptions of foreign ambassadors, and many others. The importance of this kind of sources, especially considering the fact of the death of the vast majority of the order paperwork of the specified time, is difficult to overestimate.
