The two-volume "Small Works, Articles and Letters" includes various journalistic works, reviews, memoirs, notes and reasoning on some social and political issues, written over the past decade of Ilovaysky's research activities. A collection of these small-scale works, published in 1888-1896, is currently a valuable source of analytical judgments on the problems of historical education and foreign policy development of Russia.
