Nikolai Ivanovich Kareev (1850-1931) - historian, sociologist, author of works on the methodology of science. The volume includes both the generalizing work of N. I. Kareev on the dynamics of the world historical process, and his essay on the theory and methodology of historical (and generally humanitarian) knowledge.
