This work aims to give a brief overview of ways to develop the musical culture of the Belarusian SSR. According to the authors' plan, each essay should give an idea of ​ ​ the state of musical culture in Belarus at a certain stage, should reveal the variety of forms of creativity and performance that characterizes the musical life of the republic in the present period of time. Reference material is given in essays only to the extent that will help the reader more clearly determine the significance of a given composer or work in the general development of national musical culture. The book focuses on compositions that have left an imprint on the musical life of Belarus, on the problem of the relationship between professional and folk musical art.
