Nikolai Nikolaevich Bantysh-Kamensky (December 16 (27), 1737 - January 20 (February 1), 1814) - Russian and Ukrainian historian. The question of the reunification of the Uniates in the West Russian regions, which arose at the end of the reign of Catherine II, vividly interested the Empress, caused the appearance in 1794 of labor performed by Bantysh-Kamensky on behalf of Musin-Pushkin, the then chief prosecutor of the Holy Synod.
