The book explores the milestone changes in the understanding of time initiated by Greek philosophy, continued by Christianity, transformed by the science of the New Age. Such cultural and historical shifts suggest the discovery of self-awareness, culture and man as the subject of his history. The current type of personal self-awareness led to a positive assessment of novelty, orientation towards the future, a universal, but at the same time unique form of continuity, as well as the Leibniz-Comenius educational project.
