The book explores the state of literature, painting, sculpture, architecture, theater, music, education system, philosophical and aesthetic thought in the countries of Central and Southeast Europe in the 18th - early 19th centuries; shows how the ideas of the Western European Enlightenment were interpreted there, which acquired a different national content in various historical conditions.
