The monograph is devoted to the basics of cognition - the discreteness of Nature, or its block-hierarchical structure, and the rule of block-hierarchical selection (BIO rule). The advantage of the BIO rule is that it is simple and tested in practice. Of interest are the consequences of it. As a result, one of the striking features of modern science arises - a variety of possible schemes for interpreting natural laws.
