The collection "One-story America" includes memories of life in the United States. In 1961, Vladimir Pozner first read the book of the same name by Ilya Ilf and Yevgeny Petrov. As the years passed, the writer changed many works - he was the literary secretary of Samuel Marshak, the executive secretary of the magazines Soviet LIVE and Sputnik, commented on the broadcasting of the State Radio and Television for the USA and England. It was there, in the late seventies, that Posner began to regularly perform on various channels of American television. This was done via satellite, since the writer was... restricted to travel abroad. Around this time, he reread "One-Story America" and then thought: how great it would be to repeat the journey of Ilf and Petrov, but this time for television! For many years this dream seemed unrealistic, but after the fall of the Iron Curtain it still came true: Posner, together with a television group, followed in the footsteps of Ilf and Petrov and made a documentary, the materials of which formed the basis of this book.
