The book discusses methods for solving various programming problems, the knowledge of which will be useful in many situations. Technical issues were also touched upon: structural encoding and use of subroutines, elements of style, debugging and testing, use of compilation modes, organization of data input. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the complexity of algorithms.
