The fifth edition (4th - 1983) revised the chapters on the center of gravity ("Statics"), on the addition of body movements ("Kinematics"), paragraphs on canonical equations and Newton's problem ("Dynamics"). A number of examples of statics and dynamics have been replaced by new ones. Clarifications and additions related to improving the structure of the textbook have been made.
