The collection includes studies on the Alanian (medieval Ossetian) language and writing, published at different times abroad. The works of L. Zgusta, A.M. Lubotsky, Yu. Nemet, as well as comments by V.I. Abaev and F. Tordarson are devoted to written monuments of the Alan language, including the inscription on the Zelenchuk stele of the 11th or 12th centuries, Alan phrases in the "Theogony" of John Tsets (XII century), "Yassky glossary" of the beginning of the 15th century from Hungary and Alan marginalia in the Greek manuscript of the 13th or 14th century.
