The story "Notes of the People's Judge Semyon Buzykin," which gave the name to the collection, was written in 1962, but is fully published for the first time. V. A. Kurochkin (1923-1976) in the early 50s served as a people's judge in the Novgorod region, and the work is based on materials from real judicial practice. The story contains acute social problems that have not lost their relevance today. The collection also includes the stories "Boarded Up House," "Last Spring" and stories born of impressions of meetings with residents of villages in central Russia.
