Unlike the natural sciences, which reject theories whose falsity has been proven through rigorous experimentation, the object of economic science can be explored through various abstractions, none of which can definitively supplant the rest. It follows from this that rejected theories in economics do not mean refuted. The book provides a number of examples of rejected or forgotten economic theories, interest in which has revived in modern times, and which still represent a worthy object of research.
