This collection continues to publish newly opened documents on the history of the Russian service class. The second volume contains over five hundred acts of the 16th - early 17th centuries, reflecting the process of developed local and patrimonial law, the activities of central and local government bodies, military administrative appointments and other important phenomena in the lives of service people of that time. A significant part of the published documents refers to one of the most dramatic periods in the history of the Russian state - the civil war and foreign intervention that opened the 17th century. The materials included in the collection significantly complement the previously known corpus of sources on the history of the Russian service class.
