Armenian historian, writer and translator of the 5th century AD Koryun (arm.???????, years of birth and death unknown, circa 380 - 450), student of Mesrop Mashtots (arm.???????????, 361 or 362, - February 17, 440) - author of the work "The Life of Mashtots" (written in 443 - 450). Koryun in this essay gave a biography of his teacher, described his educational activities and outlined the most reliable history of the creation of Armenian, as well as Georgian and Albanian (Aghvan) writing by Mesrop Mashtots. Koryun's "The Life of Mashtots" is the first original historical work in Armenian.
