The monograph examines and systematizes the traditional concepts of poetry, in particular, verse-forming and verse-marking figures (various types of meter, rhythm, rhymes, etc.), characterizes the main techniques, poetic styles and techniques of Russian poetic speech; a number of controversial issues were analyzed, domestic and western (Anglo-American, French and German), modern, medieval and ancient traditions were studied and taken into account.
