The textbook "New and Recent History: Modernization and Globalization of Eastern Societies" is devoted to the description and analysis of the key socio-political and economic processes that took place in the countries of the East from the second half of the 19th to the beginning of the 21st century. The paper examines the phenomenon of modernization in the East on the example of historical reconstruction of national communities and states in Japan, China, Korea, Southeast Asia, India, Turkey and Iran. Particular attention is paid to the current stage of transformation in the East and, in particular, the globalization project, its positive and negative consequences for the countries of the East.
