The book is dedicated to one of the largest operations in the Eastern Theater of the First World War - the offensive of the Russian Imperial Army in the spring of 1916, known as the Naroch operation. When working on the book, publications of German authors were studied and translated, created on the basis of combat magazines and published in documentary series in the first post-war years. Their extensive fragments are first published in Russian and occupy a significant part of the collection. A large array of photographic documents of that period is also published for the first time. The objects of the First World War preserved in the region of the operation have been studied in field expeditions and are represented by modern photographs. In a separate section, the most complete material about the memorial heritage on the sites of past battles is collected. The book is published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Naroch operation and is addressed to everyone who is interested in the history of Belarus.
