The composition of the collection is diverse in material, topics, research techniques. Articles cover different periods of the history of Russian verse - from the XVII century. to the present day. Most articles deal with rhythmic problems, but aspects of study are different. One of the central problems of the collection is the relationship of verse forms with literary tradition and with the laws of language. The last aspect is very important methodologically, for language is the matter of the verse.
