This edition includes rich patterns of ornament that existed in various regions of North Ossetia. Hereditary folk artists of Andiev collected samples of ornament, starting with the oldest patterns on ceramic, bronze and silver objects and ending with later ornamental images on tombstones. The Andievs themselves are careful guardians of very ancient and rare specimens of ornamented wood, silver and fabric products.
