Jomini Antoine Henri (Heinrich Veniaminovich) (6 (17) .3.1779, Payern, Switzerland - 24.3 (5.4) .1869, Paris), military theorist and historian, infantry general (1826). From 1798 he served in the Swiss {199} army, from 1804 - in the French army. In the Patriotic War of 1812, the commandant Vilna (now Vilnius) and the governor of Smolensk.
