This work examines the development of the Russian religious phenomenon of Unity. Based on the archival material introduced into scientific circulation, the formation and development of its structure and confessional institutions can be traced. The role of Unity in the process of overcoming the contradictions between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Old Believers is considered.
