The book was developed as a textbook for the school life safety course. It provides a history of emergency situations, describes in detail the causes and consequences of natural, man-made, social emergencies, gives advice and recommendations for the prevention and elimination of their consequences. A separate chapter is devoted to first aid to victims in emergency situations.
