Doctor of Historical Sciences S. I. Kochkurkina, an employee of the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Scientific Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences, devotes a book to the medieval history of ancient Vepsians. Based on data from archeology, toponymy, written sources, their material and spiritual culture, applied art, close economic and political ties with the cities of Ancient Russia - Ladoga and Novgorod are described.
