The publication is a commented publication of the Embassy book on relations between the Moscow state and the Crimean Khanate for 1567-1572. These materials shed light on one of the most dramatic periods of relations between the Moscow state and the Crimean Khanate and the Ottoman Empire. The published documents provide rich information on the preparation and course of the Ottoman campaign against Astrakhan in 1569, the development of the Russian-Crimean conflict, which led to the famous campaign of Khan Devlet-Girey I and the burning of Moscow in 1571. The publication is accompanied by an archaeographic essay and articles on the source study of the published embassy book and the history of relations between the Turkic-Tatar states in the period 1522-1572.
