The Radziwills are the richest family in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, in 1547 the first in the state to receive the princely title of the Holy Roman Empire. The Radziwills had huge land holdings in the territory of the modern Republic of Belarus, including the cities and towns of Geranyony, David-Gorodok, Kletsk, Koidanovo, Kopys, Lahva, Mir, Nesvizh, Chernavchitsy, Shchuchin, in Lithuania the cities of Kedainiai, Dubingiai, Birzhai and many villages. After the Olelkovichs, the Principality of Slutsk with Slutsk and Kopyl passed to the Radziwills.
