In 1705, on behalf of Peter I, the book "Symbols and Emblem" was printed in the printing house of Heinrich Wetstein [Henricum Wetstenium] in Amsterdam. Its circulation for those times was large: at least 800 copies. The whole book consists of engraved on copper drawings of emblems and symbolic images, in the amount of 840 (not counting the 8 used in the design of the title page), and a description for them.
