This book is the first in Soviet literary criticism the experience of a monograph on the life and work of the brilliant Russian poet Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev (1803-1873). The tasks of the proposed monograph, summarizing the author's many years of research in the field of Tyutchev's life and work, are quite clearly determined by its name. In the first three chapters of the work, Tyutchev's creative activity and worldview are considered in connection with the main facts of his biography and the historical events of Russian and European public life of his time. The fourth and fifth chapters are devoted to the analysis of the ideological and artistic originality of Tyutchev's poetic heritage.
