For the first time in Russia, the publication of the most famous work of the founder of the Scottish philosophy of common sense Thomas Reed (1710-1796) is being carried out. The study of the human mind on the principles of common sense, published in 1764, was one of the first reactions to the book of D. Hume Treatise on Human Nature (1739). Reed does not accept the extremes of Humean skepticism, the source of which he sees in the Cartesian-Lockian theory of ideas.
