It is impossible to tell about all the victims of the Stalinist regime. According to the most cautious estimates, already in January 1937 there were 5 million people in prisons and camps. Between January 1937 and December 1938, about 7 million people were arrested, about 1 million were shot, and about 2 million people died in custody. Millions of citizens of the USSR, mostly innocent, sincerely wishing prosperity to their country, became victims of fabricated processes and absurd accusations. This book, created on the basis of unique archival materials, traces the work of the terror mechanism day after day, the victims of which will soon become prosecutors.
