The collection of the German romantic writer Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann (1776-1822) includes the best works: "The Golden Pot," "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King," "The Sandman," "Tiny Tsaches, nicknamed Zinober," "Royal Bride." In German romanticism there was no artist more complex and contradictory, at the same time more peculiar and original. According to V.G. Belinsky, "Hoffmann is a fantastic poet, a painter of the invisible inner world, clairvoyant of the mysterious forces of nature and spirit."
