The purpose of this book is to help the buyer understand the range of perfumery and cosmetic products, give the necessary recommendations on the choice of perfumes and cosmetics and to some extent contribute to the education of taste, compliance with the basic requirements of aesthetics in this area. The book does not provide the entire list of perfumery and cosmetic products, the assortment of which is huge, but only those products that are most widespread or, according to the author, deserve special attention. The first edition of the book, published in 1961," quickly sold out and received numerous reviews from readers, including employees of perfume and cosmetic factories, scientific institutes, dermatologists both in the USSR and abroad. These reviews greatly assisted the author and publisher in reworking the book for the second edition. Some sections related to aesthetics issues have been expanded, new sections have been introduced "Briefly about men's cosmetics," "On hygienic skin care for actors," "Storage of perfumes," "Storage of cosmetics," updated information on perfumes and cosmetic products.
