The dictionary contains 4,000 English personal names and their derivatives used in the UK, USA and other English countries. Since the pronunciation of even well-known names has a number of features in English, phonetic transcription is given for each name. Many Russian equivalents of names include in addition to normative transliteration and traditional transmission. Full and original names are provided with a brief etymological reference.
