For the first time in the book, an attempt was made to take into account the buffoons who lived in the XV-XVII centuries. and noted in written sources of that time, mainly in scribe books. Only printed material was considered, as there are a large number of scribe books still waiting to be transcribed and published. XVI-XVII centuries - this is the last period of the existence of buffoonery, which has already begun to lose its former significance in everyday folk life. A distant echo of their past presence is heard in the names, surnames and nicknames of those involved in buffoonery - either themselves or their ancestors. It sounds in the names of villages, repairs and wastelands, which were once villages, in payment documents of the princely and royal courts.
