The fundamental work of the Norwegian professor Per Saugstad in the field of the history of psychology in the breadth of coverage of the material and the depth of its analysis has no analogues in Russian, and possibly world, scientific and publishing practice. The whole path of psychology as a science is investigated from its inception to the end of the 90s of the XX century, that is, in fact, to the present day. The history of psychology is considered in the context of social and cultural development.
