Generalization of knowledge about corrosion teaching in general, about peculiarities and regularities of chemical and electrochemical corrosion, the most important types of corrosion and methods of protection of materials and structures from corrosion is presented. The concept of corrosion, types of corrosion and types of destruction, features of chemical and electrochemical corrosion, criteria for assessing the speed of the corrosion process are considered. Peculiarities of anode and cathode processes, methods of corrosion protection are shown.
