If, as already mentioned, in the history of Russian-Polish cultural ties, the historiographic ties of the two peoples are one of the most significant phenomena, then the Chronicle of Maciej Stryikovsky can rightfully be called the most significant and characteristic manifestation of such relationships. Stryikovsky's work was to a certain extent the result of the development of Polish historiography of the 16th century. Taking into account all its achievements, using the accumulated richest factual material, Stryikovsky eagerly searched for new and new sources and even new versions of the monuments he already had.
